I trialed FrontPage and wouldn't have it if it were free. I didn't find the interface intuitive, and it seemed to want to force everything into templates or pre-made objects. I thought that it was one of the top editors, what a disappointment.

My site is created in SS. Do I like SS better than frontpage? Yes and No. It depends on what I am doing and who I am doing it for. There is not much that I can't do in SS (as long as I have some people in a forum like this to help along the way). Some of my clients prefer their sites to be made in other programs besides SS due to site integration. They may already have it made in Dreamweaver or Frontpage or Flash or________. If I have it and I know how to use it as a tool for site creation- I utilize the product that will give me the best product for the time I invest in it.

As for liking SS better- well, I did make my own site with it and I find it very intuitive (except for the text/link dialogue box that doesn't work how I think it should when it comes to making links or changing attributes). It is easy to learn and easy to use.

For more sites built with SiteSpinner, there is a whole gallery of them here. And of course, VM's site http://www.virtualmechanics.com/ is built with SS too.

Thanks everyone for your replys I am new as you can tell. I kinda like the drag and drop part of this program and I wonder how it works as far as everything staying in place with different size monitors.

Everything stays in place.

With higher screen resolutions, your page appears to shift to the left. To keep it centered on screen, put horizontal page centering on -- Page Editor > Special Effects tab.

I've tried several versions of FrontPage (though not the latest) and found it to be a frustrating experience. FP isn't WYSIWYG. E.g., if you put a graphic in, say, the lower right corner of a page, then preview it in your browser that graphic may now be in the middle left of the page. Arrggghhhh. Maybe FP is okay if you're a whiz with html coding...I'm not, not do I have any wish to be. SS is almost completely WYSIWYG, though it too does some goofy stuff with object positioning now and then.

In FP placement all comes down to what you choose for the graphic or text in regards to placement- relative, absolute, etc. Once you get these things down and build your site around the principle you started with, it isn't that bad- but enough about Frontpage- CAS, get in there and build your site! I would like to see it!
