Which "box" like:

Lightbox.
Litebox.
Thickbox.
...etc

best to use or comes closest to below needs:

1) Display another page in it (similar to a iframe).
2) Display Youtube-player in it (if can do above frame then can do this also).
3) Fully config backgr-color,borders of box itself...etc.
4) Dimmer effect can be disabled.
6) Can be covered by other objects (lines,squares...in layer above)
7) Best if "close this" [X] can be disabled for looks( not shure yet if i need that)

In fact i'm thinking of using it as you would use a real frame
where the only difference is that you have the nice popping/extending effect
and possibly it also helps to avoid the "white-flash" problem

Intended for
THIS PAGE

Your #6 requirement cannot be met by any of the "box" scripts. These scripts are designed to display modal boxes, meaning they are designed to be displayed on top of everything else and keep window focus on themselves until closed. If your lines, squares, etc can be placed on the page being displayed in the "box", that would work. But you will not have much luck controlling content over a modal window.

Look at Shadowbox; it meets all the rest of your requirements. The script is a bit big, so if you can afford $20 for a license, use Floatbox instead.

It's for the menu of my Youtube player
the "whateverbox" will be used as a menu
where that "whateverbox" will be inside a frame
together with the Youtube player.

So i thought that even if they are designed to be always on top
they are maybe not on top of a main page when such whateverbox is
placed inside a frame..

Q1:
I suppose it wont "jump" out of a frame on to the mainpage right ??
ie: when i cover such box with objects over the frame (where such box is in)
(cover-objects on mainpage) then that would work ?

Q2:
You mention 2 not that much known boxes...what are the main
(as requested) features that i can do with these that i cant do with
the other more popular boxes ? (a short answer will do)

Thanks

Lightbox does not work with i-frames. Lytebox does not work all that well with media. I've never used thickbox. Shadowbox and floatbox handle i-frames (floatbox even does i-frames inside of i-frames) and both handle media (flash and A/V streams). However, floatbox does not work when a page is in quirks-mode, which is what SSPro produces.

Quirks-mode ?
...sounds like little monsters from mars

Mad Eek Big Grin Frown Roll Eyes Razz

http://www.quirksmode.org/css/quirksmode.html

I read that quickly...just to have an idea...1st that catches my eye:

"by the way. IE6, 7 and 8 all switch back to 5.5 when they encounter a Quirks Mode page"

uuhhhh? what?

...that's confusing..since i could conclude from that
that all my pages (SS-pro made and therefore in Quirks-mode as you said)
will be shown as if IE7,8 are IE5.5 ?
That cant be true,i probably dont understand it right
