Hi,

I use WebDwarf to create my monthly newsletter, I put this up on my site and direct my customers to the newsletter via an email marketing (big response) email.

Some of the people view the page as I see it when I preview it before I send it, and some people when they view it see it as all jumbled, pictures over text etc.

Why is this happening ?

Thank you for your help,

Theresa.

Could you post a link to your site? It may be due to the particular browser your customers are using or something else. Have you posted your newsletter before and have (some of) your customers always had problems viewing it? Do you preview in each of the "main" browsers?

Hi.
I looked at your site but could only find a sample newsletter, can you post a link to the problem newsletter so people on the forum can help.

Is this your site inalife.com.

Thanks,
Tonga.

Thank you so much for your help.

I always preview before I publish and on my computer it looks just as it should.

I post a link to the page in the email that is sent out for people to access the newsletter.

The page is http://www.inalife.com.au/newsletter2

Yes, both times the newsletter has been sent out some people have had no problems, and some have.

One fellow told me he tried to print it and it came out even more muddled.

I can't work out why ?

Thanks again.

Theresa.

Hello Tonga,

Thank you so much for your help.

the 'sample newsletter' button does take you to the newsletter.

I wrote a reply to Kirk, perhaps you could read that too ?

Thanks again,

Theresa.

It comes out all jumbled for me too, in five different browsers that I tried.

I think your main problem is that you have your text objects too large, and you are trying to create spacing for your images by return lines between different text items, then trying to place the images over the spaces. Browsers interpret line breaks differently, and you will always get some sort of distortion.

My suggestion would be to break up each section of text into separate text objects, then place your images between them accordingly.

You can use tab guides, snap to grid, or aligning tools to ensure all is plumb and square.

OH yes !

That is what i am doing, you are correct !

I never seem to learn about that business not using the return key in such a way.

I'll have a crack at fixing it up using your advice.

Thank you so much for your help, really appreciated.

Theresa.

Thanks to Terry. I got pulled into "family" business and wasn't able to get back. I actually didn't have any problems viewing the site in any of the browsers I tried. I did notice the text issues and was going to make mention of that. I also believe that creating separate text objects and then positioning your pictures and the text the way you want it will resolve your customer viewing problems.

However, I'm still scratching my head as to why some have no problems seeing your newsletter and others do.

Possibly because a non web-safe font (Kristen ITC) is being used. If a visitor does not have that one, then the browser's default is used which would negate all the desired text positioning.

Yes, I'd say that kristen could be the problem. I'll change the font and Kirk, good plan re: text boxes... I'll give that a go too.

It is strange that for some it is okay and for others it is skew-wiff.

Thank you again for all your help. As you can probably tell, I'm a learner in this department and such things are not my speciality.

So, all the help is greatly appreciated and soaked up like a sponge !
