Hi all,
I would like to place images on my web page so that they look a bit different than just placing the image on the page. If you look at http://www.close-upmagician.com/index.html you can see that the photos on the right look like photographs taken with a poloroid camera as they have the white border.

Any ideas how to do this or any other effect that will make the photos look a bit different when on a page?

I have a blending slide show on my index page so would just like a way of making the photos look a bit different/better than just placing them on the page.

Thanks for your time
Darren

Hi Darren,

In SS, you can adjust the border size/color to be whatever you wish (Alt + Q for quick object editor). Secondly, you can choose the rotate tool and make the picture not alligned (off-center like your example page).

Good Luck!

.

You can do some effects in SS

The white border:
-----------------

Place a white square below the pic
that is bigger then the pic.
Thats all.

The dark shadow
---------------

Place a black square below the above
and play with it's transparency setting
try between 120 and 170.

The rotation
------------

Rotate each individual image
untill you get what you want.

For (1000's) more effects
try my favourite and FREE and very solid
graphics-program:

Photofiltre:

http://download.cnet.com/Photo...2192_4-10354493.html

In case of a slideshow you have to prepare your fotos
since they dont sit on the page...but are loaded separately

You could make them how you want (on the ss workarea)
then make a screenshot..cut them to size > save.

Better to use Photofiltre and apply the effects there
(borders,shadows,rotation...etc)
Best to install it and spend an evening playing
and discovering all the effects...it's worth it.

You could also put your images in a table. There are a variety of border styles, sizes and colors available -- the usual table effects.
