I was told before purchasing SiteSpinner that I would be able to create a site map with the program. I can't find a way to do that and the search topics don't have anything listed under site map. Anyone know how do I create one so that I meet the criteria of Google adsense?

There is no automatic way of creating a site map in SS but I believe that Larry answered already how to go ahead with creating site maps in this thread.

You can make a google site map here to help google crawl your website.

You can then make a simple visitor site map to help visitors search your site.
I have a very simple site map here

Thank you very much. I went to that site and created a sitemap, but unfortunately I don't know where to put it. I added a page to my web site and copied it there, but I guess that's wrong. I don't know how to get anything to "point" to there. I'm sorry, but I need details for dummies.

I assume that you are talking about a site map for visitors and not google site map. If that's the case then what you need now is a link to the page where you have your site map. The best place to start how to do it is SS Tutorial that you find under Help > Tutorials > Your First Project.

Just to confirm you can have 2 sitemaps.
1 for google to help google know exactly what is on your site (crawl) This is good fore SEO
1 for visitors (humans) to make it easier for them to search your site.

Both sitemaps are different!

The site map for google is just uploaded to your root directory. You can not upload this with SS you need a ftp program.
I use Filezilla
Upload your site map you created then point google to that page to verify.
Example: 'www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml'

Here is my site map for google
http://www.woodfx.co.uk/sitemap.xml

I downloaded and installed Filezilla. It wants me to configure my server before I can upload the sitemap. I'm sorry, but I don't have a clue what that means. You said "Upload your site you created then point google to that page..." I know how to point google to the page once there is a page, but I don't know what it means when I'm asked what my server is. And when I am able to upload it, will it make the extension to my web page automatically like yours is woodfx.co.uk and then you have woodfx.co.uk/sitemap.xml? I'm sorry is this sounds incredibly stupid, but it seems every where I turn it's just automaticaly assumed I'll know how to do what people are telling me to do.

Thank you for your patience and help.

It sounds like you got the Filezilla FTP server. What you want to install is the Filezilla client program. Youe can get it from here.

OK, I know this is getting tedious, but I downloaded the client program and it's still asking me for a server and like I said in last post, I don't know what it means when I'm asked what my server is. And when I am able to upload it, will it make the extension to my web page automatically like with woodfx.co.uk and then you have woodfx.co.uk/sitemap.xml? I'm sorry is this sounds incredibly stupid, but nothing has instructions and I just don't know this stuff.

FTP is a program used to transfer files between two computers. If has a client-side (the part that is on your computer) and a server-side (the part that is on your web server). In order for the two programs to transfer files, you need to tell your FTP client program how to connect to your FTP server. This usually requires you to set up a profile or account inside your FTP client that contains the FTP server address (normally a domain name, like mydomain.com), and a user name and password so the server can verify you have the correct permission to log-in when you connect to the server.

When you set up your domain with your hosting company, they should have given you the details needed to log into your server account to transfer files. If you do not have them, you will need to contact your provider tech support for assistance. Sometimes, you can set up your own FTP server accounts if your hosting account has a control panel that allows it.

Once you have uploaded the sitemap XML file to your site's root folder, you can either wait until google finds your file or you can use the google webmaster tools to submit your sitemap. I suggest submitting the sitemap as it will get the google search spider to visit your site sooner rather than later.
