My drop down menu is working fine in Internet Explorer but not working in Firefox browser. Can anyone help? The menu is under "Products": Home Page for dacnl.com

It seems to be working when I use FF3.

Hmmm, it doesn't work for me in FF3 either but does in IE8. In FF, I see the the menu drop down, but it disappears as soon as I mouse over a menu item.

If you have been following the DropDown tutorial, there is a step missing -- discussed here: Missing Step.

What name are you using for your project file? If it is on your site, I'll check that. I find drop-down menus are too tough to debug just looking at the published code.

I tried that: http://www.dacnl.com/dacnl.ims
and get a "file not found error". Does that file actually exist on your site? -- maybe you had auto-backup off in the Publisher?

No, auto back up is selected (just double checked). Don't know anything about looking up a project on a website, though; that is what I nameded it (dacnl). Sorry I can't be of more help.

It's possible then that your host does not allow .ims file types -- so just be aware you probably don't have a back-up on your site.

To help solve your menu problem, I suggest you instead email me your project file -- address in my public profile.

Corina,

You should be able to FTP to your site and see your files there, including your dacnl.ims file.

I cannot send the project (company policy), sorry. If you have any other suggestions Bruceee or Kirk, please pass them on. Thanks!

If you mean dacnl company policy, that does not make much sense. You are publishing everything in the open once you put in on the web. If you have company proprietary info or trade secrets in your project, putting them on the web is hardly a good way to protect it.

But since no one can control draconian company mentality, try copying your project, open it, then strip away every page until just the page with the drop down menu remains. Then send that to Bruce. If you need to, strip everything off the that page except the drop down menu itself. That should pass the scrutiny of your bosses.

Once you have a stripped down page, try the menu then. Sometimes other code on the page can interfere with correct menu operation.

I tried it with a stripped down page, it made no difference. Here's what's really weird ... after fussing with a bunch of different things I found out that the menu works in Fire Fox when I put a large border around one of the groups of menus, but then it looks silly, of course. Didn't change any other settings. I took the border off, and the problem came back. So strange, eh?

If you want a quick and dirty fix, try a border that is the same color as your background.

Failing that, if you can email me your stripped down page, I'll take a closer look.
