Tony,

I think I'm getting confused. Are you saying that when you navigate to a php page with your browser, it opens in the code/text editor?

No Larry, when I preview a .php page in SSPro with the preview set on the default browser the page opens in IE regardless of whether the default browser is FF or IE. This only happens with a .php extension, the .html extension changes to the default browser correctly. Does that make sense??

Tony,

I’m not real sure how to resolve your problem with Vista (it’s quite simple with XP), but another workaround is to go to Options > Preview Options, and add all of your browsers to the Preview Browser Definition list..

Then, before previewing, select the browser you want from the drop-down list before previewing.

You may have already done this, but it’s just a suggestion.

Are you running PHP on your computer? I agree this is strange, but if you do not have PHP installed, it should not be working in any browser and all you should see is the script or a blank page.

I'm confused. How do you preview a php page in SS?

When I have any php code included on a page, it previews as straight code unless I have PHP installed and running on my local system. When I have any php code included on a page, it will always show as straight code when previewed in any browser, default or otherwise, that I want to preview with.

Of course right now I can very easily confused since my wife and I are in Hawaii celebrating our 40th anniversary. Cool

Larry,

No I'm not running PHP on my computer (as far as I know) I've never installed it anyway, but I can preview a page with .php extension in both FF & IE

Congratulations Kirk, we have ours next year, but I wonder if contributing to the VM Forum while you are there is going down too well!

Dear Kirk,

Is your Window 7 Beta Home Basic or Premium ????

Did you managed to crack the Beta to generate numbers as genuine Window 7 ???

Regards,
Alan

I'm running the Windows 7 RC which is the Ultimate version. If I'm not mistaken, Ultimate is the only Win7 RC out there (officially that is).

Dear Kirk,

I heard about windows 7 Beta being a whole time bomb thing. Basically Microsoft developed the Beta to blow up the OS in august or OCT. when windows 7 is being released.
The blow up means every 2 hours the OS will shut down. Courtesy of Homosoft.

RC means they released their final Beta version before going onsale.
RC will expire next year May 2010.

And, aparently homosoft already knew we won't want to pay for it and stick to "encourage" us by buying original.

We will see how it goes. So far I have not gotten any problems yet.
I will get the retail version when it comes out anyway so we have to see how it goes.

Regards,
Alan

Alan,

Actually, Microsoft has been quite generous this time around with Windows 7. The beta is a valid version until March 2010 at which time it will warn you and then restart the computer every 2 hours. They are being very up-front about this - no hidden time bombs - then in June 1010 it will stop working unless you get a license.

The OEM/retail release is scheduled for October 2009, which means you have plenty of time to either revert back to your previous OS version purchase a license.
