I followed the steps to upload my website but when I look at it on the web, it loads the index file instead of my first page. My web host company said I needed script help to get it to go to the content pages rather than the index page. Someone please tell me what I need to do in extremely simple language. Assume I know nothing. I am using SiteSpinner.

I see Larry is on the forum at the moment. He can porbably explain this better than me.
When you create your site, your main (fist or Home) page should be named "index" (no quotes). You can change the title of any page, including the index page, by using the Page Editor. When anybody enters your web address, a browser will look for an index page (or sometimes a default page). By default, SS opens a new project with an index page. It sounds to me that you have created something there, then created a new page that you want as your site's Home page. If this is the case, rename your index page to something else, then rename the page that you want displayed first as index. Hope this makes sense. |
