I have been experimenting with different java applets from this website. In order to check how it works I tried the "starwars" but can't make it work in preview at all. After downloading and unzipping I get file not found message reffering to the .class file. After reading instructions I found information that I must have a .jar or a .class file and in this particular applet there is a .jar but not a .class file. Without a .class file I can't insert it as a foreign object (java applet) so I inserted it as a publish file. Anybody know how to make it work?.

Hmmm, I can't even get the example to work on their site. I'm using IE6, and I guess my security settings are too strict. The page you linked to above tells me "Your browser doesn't support Java", and I just checked, I do have Java scripting enabled. Oh well, I don't really want to run Java anyway Smile

Sometimes there are multiple files, so it is important to identify them all and get them all in the right place(s). In this case there seems to be only one, the starwars.jar file -- I guess that contains the starwars.class.

To preview, I suggest try placing the file(s) in your preview folder (equivalent to the root on your site). If you can't get the foreign object to work, try using the code the site provides as a code object.

Thanks Bruceee for taking time Smile. I've tried different options but can't get it working, but that's OK. It was pure and simple curiosity that took the better out of me Red Face. Since I am new to all of this I try to explore what's out there. Are those java applets something to avoid in general?

I avoid them because of security concerns -- maybe unjustified.
