Which one is better for an old lady to use?
Is there someplace to compare side by side? Sorry if I am in the wrong place with this question. Starr |

With Jumpline you get what is called a Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS). This is basically your own server computer. iHostVM offers a simple hosting service in which several web sites use a shared computer.
Jumpline costs more per month because of the extra "horsepower" you get, such as the ability to place your own programs on the server. This is probably overkill if all you want is a simple hosted service. What you need to compare are several hosting service plans. I would forget VDS accounts for now; you can always upgrade later if you need it. Compare how much disk space is offered, how much bandwidth per month, and cost. Also run a web search looking for user reviews; many host providers are 3rd party (they buy a service from GoDaddy, JumpLine, etc. and re-sell it) and do not provide good tech support if you need it. |

Hello Starr,
I agree with Larry; if you are looking for more advanced hosting, then Jumpline is the way to go. However, if you are looking for the easier solution, then iHostVM should suite your needs (incidentally, both iHostVM and Jumpline are separate companies from Virtual Mechanics). iHostVM has the added benefit of being accessible directly through the SiteSpinner Publisher. Both iHostVM and Jumpline offer a year of free hosting for SiteSpinner customers (contact us with your SiteSpinner Serial Number for details). - Derry |
