I am really getting to grips with SS and I love it - the help from this forum has been superb. Top work guys.
Now I have buttered you all up I have created my own PHP forum - working well, I had the default style of php (Prosilver) fitting nicely within my page. I used the following code: CODE] <div><iframe src ="http://www.krisjohnson.co.uk/phpBB3/"width="850px" height="640px"></iframe></div> [/CODE] I have sinced switched themes in php as it suits my page colours better - however the code does not have the same affect on size as it did with the previous them - which I do see why not, I assume the this new style is just larger. www.krisjohnson.com/forums.php Any help to make this fit nicely - I dont mind scroll bars going down - but width bars are not good for sites in my opinion. Your link is bad. Had trouble getting to you page until I realized it is a .co.uk site and not a .com
Try changing the width in your code from 850px to 1000px. That should be wide enough to remove your scrollbar. You should also adjust your project's target resolution to accommodate this increased page width; otherwise, page centering does not work properly. |

Sorry Larry - would help if I did put the correct URL - well done for finding the correct link.
What would you recommend changing the project resolutuon to? Wont this affect how the rest of the project pages look - ie change all the alignments that have been set already? |

For SS page centering to be able to center the page, you need to define a target resolution at least as wide as your widest page (a size 13 foot does not fit inside a size 2 shoe no matter how much you want it to).
While this may effect some of your pages that are narrower than the page with the i-frame, your question was how to get rid of the horizontal scrollbar. The only way to do that is to widen the page. You can't have it both ways inside the same browser. |

Cheers Larry
OK I understand. I changed the target to 1000px wide too and it seems to have worked the rest of site looks OK - needs a bit fo tweaking but should suffice. One question though - I have lost the vertical scroll bar which was OK. Rather than changing the vertical resolution - is there a code I can append to the code I post above to bring this back?? |

With i-frame you get both scrollbars or none at all. There's no way to specify just one. However, if the i-frame height is shorter than the page content while the width is at least as large, a vertical scrollbar will be visible and working while the horizontal scrollbar will be visible but inactive.
