Hi
I have built a site that plays audio with a visable player when you open a page. then if you want to down load the mp3 i have a link to the file... but i do nt want - quicktime or what ever to play the file but for my browser to download it or at least show the download options. is there code that i can put into the link to stop the default player playing the file?
many thanks.... love the programe. it makes me look smart! Cool

You probably want a Flash Audio Player. Two suggestions in this thread. Also, try the Find button at the top of this page -- there are lots of other threads on the subject too.

One simple way around this, would be to put an instruction to users to right click the link to your mp3 and 'save target as'

I have put "right click" instructions but i know people will still left click so i have also made the link open in a new window so they dont lose there place. But i really want their computer to treat the MP3 as a file and download it. Is there code or trick to blocking the built in player from playing it ...

You could zip the files and that would solve it.
