I am having a bad day. See http://redbaronettes.com/ and the text under June 16. It is set in SS Pro as Ariel 12 but clearly is Times New Roman. Something is interferring here but what? I have tried deleting the text box and using a new one just pasting in the test - all to no avail. Sorry but is there help out there?

The text is using your default font which happens to be Times New Roman. Quick and dirty fix: set your default font to Arial. (Page Editor > Fonts, Links tab.)

It's a good idea to cut text out completely and paste into a new text box with the Paste Plain Text option. This removes strange formatting characters that can get into your text and upset things. So rather than just Paste, use Paste Plain Text.

While you are in repair mode, take a look at the text in your Description metatag. You have two lots of quotes around it, and also some strange punctuation in the dots after the word "spit" in "And learn to spit.…." That may not be the cause of your current problem, but you never know...

Thanks for your advice BUT it is only a partial solution. I changed the default to Arial 10 (my usual, by the way on other sites) and did a copy/paste to a new box. Highlighted all and changed the size to 12 and that is how it shows in SS. In Preview and Posted it is Arial 10. So for some reason the change of type in the text does not work except by changing the default.
I am not having this with other sites I do - so far!
I changed the meta description taking out the quotes and the periods.
A mystery. Where is Sam Spade when I need him.

I had SS and bought SS Pro in December 2008 which is when I think it came out. I started this site in October 2008 so it certainly would have been an upgrade BUT there have been no problems until this page this time. I just tried another page in the same site and it gets stranger.
I made a new text box and entered some text as Arial 10. I formatted it to Arial 12. It previews at 12. Now I change the top phrase (like on the Home page - June 16) to Bold. It is OK. Now centre the top phrase and it is bold centred in Arial 12 but all the rest of the text is now 10. How can bolding and centreing one bit of text change the rest?
I just tried it on another site started prior to Dec. 08 and same thing. And on a new site only created last week. Everything is OK until I centre the Bold heading. Note: If I centre all the test it is OK. SO centreing the line above some text changes the attributes of the text below. I am sure I have done this a hundred times before with no problem so what now????

You have found a bug, which I will name "Bob's Bug" in honor of its discoverer Smile

This happens for me on any left justified text preceded by centered text. (Tested in SS 2.90 Beta b.) The left justified text takes on whatever default font you have set, ignoring the the font you set in the text object itself.

Here are three fixes:
1. Set a new default font in the Page Editor > Fonts, Links tab -- you've already done this.
2. Make the centered text as a separate text object
3. At the end of the centered text, change the font size. Change it back again at the start of the left justified text.

Just what I need - a bug named after me. Rather have a car.
The fix #3 worked but now I have to remember it each time. I presume the gang will make this a fix on the next update.
Thanks for all your attention to this. Made me fell warm and fuzzy.
