My site is made with Site Spinner and hosted by BlueDomino (the Coffee cup people).
I have exactly the same problem. I tried resolving this in a very long thread here some months ago and I was never able to get it to work. I'll be watching closely!
Good luck (for all of us)

There is no automatic way to do that with SiteSpinner etc. but what you need to do is put the file on your web server and then link directly to that file in your web page.

So, if your file is 'test.mp3' and you put it on your web server in the same location as the web page that has the link, you would use 'test.mp3' as the url for the link. If the file is not is the same directory you would need to add the path for example 'www.somewhere/somedir/test.mp3' (or something like '../somedir/test.mp3' if you know the relationship the web page)

When someone clicks on a link with a url that points directly to a file, they will be asked it they want to run or save the file.

To upload the file to your web server the simplest way is to use a 3rd party FTP program. There are many free ones available. If you don't want to use an FTP program you can use a work-about method with SiteSpinner or WebEngine like this:

Note: this method will only work if you are publishing with the 'GATHER' option selected.

- Add a 'Foreign Object' to your web page by clicking the 'Foreign Object' button

- In the Foreign Object dialog box, select the format 'General Code'.

- Press the 'FilePath' button and choose the file you want to upload. (you may need to change the '*.js' to '*.*' to see your files in the file open dialog box.)

-Press 'OK' to close the Foreign Object dialog box.

-The next time you publish to your web server, your file will be put in the same location as your web page. Once your file has been uploaded you should remove or disable the Foreign Object so it does not affect you web page.

Let me know if that does not help.
