I might be really dense but I need some help with SiteSpinner update. I was running 2.70 and downloaded 2.91. It is in a different file on my computer. When I read the directions it says that I need to transfer some files etc. I am just lost.

Would this be an "automatic" update if I loaded the new version to the same directory?

Anyone have any words of wisdom or easier instructions than those linked to the update page?

Thank you for your time.

Jamie

Are you upgrading from SiteSpinner (v2.70f) to SiteSpinner Pro (v2.91e)? You should be able to simply install SSPro. It will install into a separate directory under Program Files\..\VM. I'm not sure what files need to be transferred. Just remember that ims files published with SSPro aren't backwards compatible with SS.

You should have downloaded a .msi file (Microsoft Installer file). Just double-click the file to run it and follow the on-screen prompts.

Kirk & Brucee -

Thanks for the replys. I got the msi file and followed the prompts but placed the program in a different directory. When I open the new program the projects are not there etc. In the instructions it talks about moving the project files etc. Can I avoid this if I just downloaded the update to the same directory?

I am just worried about screwing things up by moving files around.

Does this additional information help?

Thanks

Jamie

For your new version, you won't have your projects in the SS MRU (Most Recently Used) file list, so you will need to use File > Open Project to locate them. But from there, your projects should work as before.

There is no particular need to move your projects, but even so, I would put them somewhere that I have full control over -- I wouldn't use the default MyProjects (?) folder.

Thanks for the info. So the program location should not be a problem and I should not have to move any files. I wish I had the location of those instructions to share. If I locate them I will post the location. Thanks again.
Oh and the update looks like it might be easier to use. I, of course with the above problem have not tried it out yet. Thanks again.
