I have several pictures and they all have links to other pages that give more detail about that item. That works ok but it seems that because they are linked up with the other page some of the image show the linked picture instead of the original picture. When I preview before publishing it works exactly as it should. I can't figure it out because it does it with whatever image it wants and not to all the images. As far as I know all of the images have been created the same.

G'day Rossy.

Interesting website, when my wife saw me looking at your problem page I had some explaining to do. When she new why, she thought it was funny. She has a good sense of humor.

Anyway down to business. Are all your thumbnails sized down in SiteSpinner(They look like they are)?

For some reason when I look at your code the image URL for some of the images are for the original large images, so maybe when you publish your project you didn't gather the files properly. When you click the 'publish' button at the top of your work window and click on 'publish project' a publisher box should popup, click on the 'pages tab' and in the 'Path Options' section what settings do you have? You should have it set to gather all files.

It's just a stab in the dark, but see how this goes first.

Tonga.

You might want to see the site I've just been asked to set up, LOL...when ready! The one you are referring to is very tame by comparison, LOL!

I've had all the pics from a photoshoot for a major publication (for men, would you believe!) and now been asked to set up various websites on a related subject matter for a few models.

Not too sure I will want it as an example on my own site, LOL! But, I'm interested to see how much business it produces.

Some of my own sites have 'shops' which have so far produced zilch, despite intensive Adwords campaigns...and believe me, I know a fair bit about what I am doing on the Adwords score.

I think you have Re-render off for the large images, and this is forcing SSPro to use the original images, rather than create a true thumbnail - a smaller image whose name starts with "obj". So for the wrong images, set Re-render on in the Quick Editor > Object tab.

This is a deviation from WYSIWYG as it would be nice if the full-size image appeared on the workpage.

Rossy, you don't need to worry about this next paragraph -- for you just setting Re-render on should be enough. But for those interested in such things:

SSPro and the new V2.90 series SiteSpinner, still in Beta, will actually scale down such unre-rendered images using HTML -- just like the old V2.70 series of SS. For the newer versions, there is a new setting: Options > Project Options > Advanced > "Set <img> as 100% of object <div>".

The thing is I didn't alter the pictures. I put small pictures on the page with a bunch of pictures then linked it to the page with a bigger picture. See I'm pretty simple and I don't know anything about thumbnails and the like but I'm learning fast. The link is actually pulling the other picture forward somehow.

If you resized a larger image to make a small one, then that is an alteration, and SS will make a new image. Normally, unless you somehow have re-render off.

So I still suggest, on your workpage:
  • Right-click an image that comes out too big (it won't look that way on your workpage)
  • Click the Quick Editor > Object tab
  • If the Re-render box is not checked, then that is your problem.

If it isn't, then the plot thickens -- how did you make the small pictures?
