I like to 'start' (causing to begin playing)
an animation ...by a button or mouse-over.

The button or mouse-over are not on top
or under the animation but somewhere else
on the page

Not sure if it is possible to trigger a gif animation. I have never seen it done. Perhaps someone else on the forum has some insights?
