If you guys can help me I would be so grateful!
I am a newbie, but managed last night to upload my pages to my site. I thought I had them saved in my computer too. However, I deleted what I thought were copies which were in fact originals. I needed to do some editing this morning, and so using ftp tried to copy my pages from the server back to me. They copy, but Spinner won't allow me to open them. It says there is one error in the file, seek tech support, error 4. Any ideas? Thanks! Rene |

Hi Rene,
You need to open your .ims file as it contains all the Project information. Now, if you used SiteSpinner to Publish to your webhost, then a copy of the .ims file would have been uploaded automatically, and so you would have a back-up. If you did use SiteSpinner to Publish, check your the directories you published to for the .ims file. - Derry |

Hi Derry
I could not get SiteSpinner to upload my pages. My ISP tech support seemed frustrated with me and had me download WS FTP. Everything went smoothly from there. Then, I deleted my desktop copies of the web pages, unaware I had been saving back to desktop. This morning I used the same FTP to copy the files back. I can see them in the directory on my HD, I can access them to open in SiteSpinner. But when I try to open them, I get the error. Can I do something to change how Spinner sees the file? If not, can I use Spinner to copy from my site? And how? If I had problems uploading, however, won't I have the same problem bringing them back? THanks a bunch! Rene EDITED TO ADD: Going through Program Files, Virtual Mechanics, Site Spinner, to the folder MySite, I can see all the files that have been uploaded. But I cannot open them in Site Spinner. Hi ReneM,
If you have ws-ftp then use that to browse your webhost - see if there are any files there with an .ims extension. If so download the file and put it into your MySite folder and you should be all set. If there is no .ims file on your server, try doing a search of you computer for any files that end with .ims If you don't have your original project file you may have to start over as you need this file. - Derry |

Hey
Have them in .ims, still won't work. I guess I'll rebuild them *sigh* but thanks so much for all the help! Rene |

Hi Rene,
If have your .ims file then you should be able to get your project back. You just need to put it in the same directory that it was in before you deleted it. - Derry |
