Since my website is about "sensitive" equipment(surveillance/counter-surveillance)
I do'nt like it that much that anyone with good or bad intentions can simply see my home adress by doing a "whois" search

How to avoid this ?

Ofcourse you could registrate your website under a different adress (at your host)
wich needs some kind of "social engineering"
And probably needs the set up of a fake company or a pobox kind of thing.
Or find someone who is prepared to "lend" his adress for this purpose.
Maybe my host/website-provider won't like that

Anyone ?

Tnx again

Just to be clear ...i am not looking for
somebody to "lend" his adress for this purpose

I am just looking for a legal and official
way to "hide" my home/house adress ....

This seems reasonable to me and should be possible.

In case of "spam/misbehaviour....and so on,
one can always complain at the authorities
or at the host/provider.

So how to do it ?

I dont like re-routing or other websites that
might be there and offer somekind of service.

Maybe a little off-topic ?
Or better ask where ? Eek

Tnx again !

Ron

Some domain registering services allow you an option of using their name as registrant. (e.g. godaddy.com). Other than that I can't help.

It is probably better to post this kind of question under our 'Web General Discussion' forum since it is not a WebDwarf/SiteSpinner/WebEngine issue. For this particular question you will likely have better luck in a domain name service (DNS) or domain name registration forum if such a thing exists.

I have solved the problem...

Just called my host/website-provider
and asked them to remove it...and they will now replace it with there own adress.

I think most hosts will do this if asked.

That's it ...very simple

Tnx

Ron
