Hi,

I updated my website and changed pictures etc. However, these new pictures are missing after loaded to .com

However, the exact same page uploaded to .net all pictures are ok.

I tried umteen times and changed from web engine to SiteSpinner Pro, still problem exist. I also tried to download from Filzila from .net and then upload again to .com, and same problem arises. Is it Host server problem or my webengine or SiteSpinnerPro problem ??

When view in "preview HTML Page" and "Preview HTML project", every thing seems normal.

What is the reason for 12 or 13 files not uploaded ??

How could I overcome this problem ???

Thanks for any help.

Alan

I certainly don’t think that it is a problem of Web Engine or Site Spinner Pro. Nor do I think that it’s a host server problem.

Has your site worked okay before on your .com site?

Also, are both your .com and .net sites with the same host?

If you are using Site Spinner’s FTP tool, I would suggest you save two projects. Set each FTP settings for each site, and upload them individually.

I’m not the best to fully understand the protocols of how the internet works, but I would think that if you own two domains (.net and .com) you could have them both point to the same index page, therefore only requiring one upload.

Any web site development is not concerned if it is .com, .net, .org or whatever. It is your DNS that matters.

Dear postyr,

Thanks your input. greatly appreciate.

I have my website since I bought both web engine and Site Spinner few years' back.

I used to have the .com and .net with same index page and with one upload.

I just split them up and use different host servers bcos, my .com comes out on 1st page but never see my .net page in google search engine. Hence, I want both to appear in 1st page search engine.

initially before I update and change the pictures, both .com and .net are ok, until i feel that .com and .net should be sightly different that after changed, .com comes with missing pictures, but .net is ok.

regards,
Alan

There is something strange going on with your .com site:
1. The HTML page is truncated to 64K
2. The images seem to be zero length files (0 bytes file size)

My best guess is that your .com host is doing this -- especially as you have tried both SiteSpinner Pro and Web Engine with two different upload methods. Maybe you are running out of disk space on your host?

I suggest carefully compare what is on your .com site with what is in your local publish folder for the .com site. In particular, watch for files that are less than the correct length. If you find your host files are smaller than your local, then that would confirm a problem with your host.

Dear Bruceee,

Thanks your advise. Have moved to new host and reload again, but being new host will take effect after 24 hours.

I will check after tomorrow noon time to see if it happens again with missing pictures etc.

Regards,
Alan

Bruce, that's exactly the problem that I had with a client's site. There was a 'lack' of space simply because the host required the client to 'allocate' his available space between website and e-mail etc - and it hadn't been done, so the default kicked in and allocated it all to e-mail.

Having switched 'space' to the website everything worked fine.

These 'hosts' can work in mysterious ways, LOL!
