I think I've read all the threads and tried all the suggestions in every topic thread on Flash Videos in SS. I have the actual Flash application, and I cant get the video to play.. one time it showed up, but the controls didnt.
I've tried uploading the swf as a flash foriegn object, and uploading the flv and or the html as a published file and or as a I Frame.. in every conceivable option... someone please help asap. I have a paying customer! lol
Here is the page I am trying to get it to work on. I have other bio pages on the website with regular video, but I have switched to flash, for NUMEROUS reasons.

Is the file you are having trouble with tyinterview1.swf? When I tried looking at the tyinterview1.html page, nothing came up. I downloaded the swf file and it looks like it is only a flv player. I did not see any video embedded in the file. Is there an FLV file that needs to be uploaded? If the swf is supposed to be a complete video file, then it looks corrupted.

Try placing the html file on your page as a Foreign Object (iframe), then upload the .swf and .flv files to your website, using a separate ftp program.

It looks like the swf file is looking for a file named ty22.flv. Did you upload it? Since this is a file external to SiteSpinner it will not auto upload it for you; you will need to do it manually. Make sure it is in the same folder as the swf player.

So I should import a foriegn object and select the ty22.flv as a "Publish file"?
and should I keep the viewer on the website as the .html file in the IFrame? (doing that makes it look perfect in the preview) (It's Publishing/uploading to the live site now)(That will take a few minutes, but thanks again... and my fingers are crossed!)

The swf file is already there as it is being uploaded when you publish the tyinterview1.html page. Place a Foreign Object on that page using the Publish File type and use the Filepath button to include the flv file. This will tell SiteSpinner what file to upload for you.

I downloaded your swf player and flv files and am getting the same blue background. There still seems to be something wrong with the swf file. The FLV file is ok and plays fine in my flv player. Do you have another swf player you can use?

I got it to work on ben's page! http://www.dream1122.com/benbio.html
Yipee! you're the man! thanks a lot!
How do I center the vid so I dont see the yellow backround on his vid?
And does that mean that the vid on Ty's page in corrupt?
Thanks so much.. go USA (Olympics is on) and good night for now.

It looks as though you have taken Larry's suggestion of using an iFrame, inserting the beninterview.html page.

The yellow background is not a part of your video, it is the background page colour you have set for the beninterview.html page.

Either change the background colour of the beninterview page to white, and set the border to "0", or resize the iFrame to the exact size of the video.

Looks like you got the flv player working. Are you are making these yourself? If so, you should consider using a flashvars parameter to specify which flv file to load and play. This way you would only need one player for all your flv files.

When you load something into an i-frame, there are margins applied to it. You can add 2 parameters to your i-frame object that may get rid of the yellow. Double-click the i-frame object to open the Foreign Object/Media window, and at the bottom, enter 2 name-value parameters:
Name: marginwidth Value: 0
Name: marginheight Value: 0

However, I recommend you get rid of the i-frame entirely and use a code object to paste the flash file directly onto your page. This would give you (1) better control of how it is positioned on your page (no i-frame quirks to contend with) and (2) you do not need to access another page, so load time is improved. The code from the interview html page you need to put inside the code frame is:
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0"
width="318" height="239" id="beninterview" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="movie" value="beninterview.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="bgcolor" value="#ffff00" />
<embed src="beninterview.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffff00" width="318"
height="239" name="beninterview" align="middle"
allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>
