I'm new to this, but I will get to the point.
I'm using Webdwarf/Sitespinner to set up my work home page (which was quite easy.Thank you to Sitespinner)(www.dartmouthmetals.ca)all comments are appreciated!I need to upload or create a page to show some live camera pics.I'm using Active Webcam to do the monitoring, which has builtin webpage design and ftp upload. How do I go about connecting the 2 pages or do I need to create a page in Sitespinner to link them ?? Like I said I'm really new to this and I'm trying to learn as I go.Any help would be a blessing. thanks in advance.

Hi Always Wondering,

If your WebCam software makes a page for you, then all you have to do is link one of the pages you created with SiteSpinner to your WebCam page. You do not have to integrate the two in any way

Be sure to submit your page to the Gallery - http://www.virtualmechanics.com/products/gallery.html

Hi... Welcome to the forum, its always good to see other sites created with IMS products.

I had a look at your site and would like to offer a little bit of advice if you do not mind.

I am on dial up and it took a very long time for you page to download and this is due to the main image being some 690 kb which is enormous. The other three are also quite big at 178 209 and 187kb. This gives over 1.2mb of files to download. Most images on web sites are best at perhaps no more than 30kb for fast download unless there is a particular need for extreme clarity.

I also note that the images are in .png format and by their file names it sems that you have re-sized thenm withn the editor as they has the names "geo".

I would like to suggest the following:

If you do not have the physical size already set for the original images and you wish to re-size within the editor then set "Project Target Options" under "Options" to jpg under "Default Vectot Format. Then whenever you resize an image within the editor they will be set as .jpg's and hopefully the file size will not be enlarged as they seem to do when set to .png.

I certainly prefer to use .jpg for net use but I know that others prefer .png but unless you use a different photo program such as Photoshop of Paint Shop Pro, or indeed any other such program to pre-set you images then re-sizing them within the editor with the de-fault set to .png will produce large files.

Hope this has been of some help Smile
