Could someone please tell me what I need to put in the IMS Publisher (FTP tab) under the Remote publish directory and the ftp login data by the host name-IP address. Will the host name be enough or do I need an IP address in there?
Thanks |

my personal preference is to publish content to a local folder in my PC .. then use a separate FTP client and file manager like .. Total Commander .. but there are others .. CuteFTP etc.
... in the internal FTP function in WebEngine publishing there is no need to insert IP address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) but you can if you know it .. here are settings which I have tried .. remote publish directory - just a forward slash (/) .. or you can insert the path to a sub-directory (/subdirectory/) hostname - ftp.servername.com anon login - left blank user name - username given by your ISP e.g. wade password - your password save password - ticked remote port - 21 D_L [This message was edited by D_L on July 27, 2003 at 10:56 AM.] |

D_L is correct, just to add to that:
The 'Remote Publish Directory' is the location on your web server where you want your web page to be sent. If you don't know it, you can press the 'Browse' button on the FTP tab to find and select a remote directory. |
