Yes.

A manual slideshow can be done using thumbnails and an i-frame.

If you want an timed slideshow, or one with image transition effects, you will need to use code, either javascript or flash.

A good place to start looking is http://www.bruceee.com/SS/SlideShowBasic.html

Yes many ways. For some basics, start here.

For fancier methods, Google on javascript + slideshow. Generally you will add the code to your workpage as a code object.

Thanks guys for the great info. I'm a novice when it comes to building a site and working with code is a frightening thought to me. before I ask some basic questions from the references you suggested, I have a thought...

I wish to create webpage with a slide show of thirty photos with music and transition options. Can I make a slide show movie using PICASA 3, export it as a WMV format, and use the IMPORT FOREIGN OBJECT function to place it on my webpage?

Thanks for your help.

In theory yes, that should work, However, using a file format like WMV will depend on a proper player being installed on your visitor's computer and that their browser is configured to use it.

If Picasa can generate a more common file format, like SWF, which uses a single player type (Flash), then you can be pretty assured that 95% of your visitors will be able to view it.
