I've recently answered this elsewhere and thought I'd post it just in case it might assist.

The new Vista does not recognise the old hlp files for older software. So if you update to Vista (or like me get a new lappy with Vista installed) it can be a right PITA.

and you can download an update which then provides access to your help files.
