I've dumped NetObjects Fusion and also my old website and business name. I've hosted a replacement page with 1and1 using their website builder software as a quick and dirty way to get people directed to my new site.
The 1and1 site builder created a great raised shadow around the center section of the page. I want to do this with Sitespinner but it's beyond me. Here's the page: www.playitagaindjs.com Is the ANY way I can do this in Sitespinner? Thanks in advance for your responses Howard "Be kind, I'm learning..." |

No, you can't do exactly that directly.
The nearest equivalent would be a rectangle with a thick grey border and rounded corners. But unfortunately, the border can only be a flat color. If you want a color gradient on the edges, you could do it with four individual lines, rotated where necessary to get the gradient running in the correct direction. You can make color gradients (linear, cylinder or radial) in in the Quick Editor or Shading Editor. However this approach would leave you with discontinuities at the corners. Another possibility is to make the image with some other program (like 1and1!) and import it into your SiteSpinner project. |

Thanks for the idea.
I got it to work by overlaying boxes with different shades then joining them together. You can see what I did. www.playitagaindjs.com It rolls to my other website in 10 seconds. Howard "Be kind, I'm learning..." |

Looks cool
Did you do the whole thing with SiteSpinner, or did you cheat and use some other tool too? |

The raised area on the playitagaindjs page is just layering 9 boxes of different shades each .01 bigger than the previous behind each other. I kept checking how it looked in IE. Once that was done I then grouped them all.
Interesting problem that I solved. When I grouped them all and previewed in IE the top and sides looked good but the bottom was messed up. I ROTATED the box 180 degrees and everything cleared up. The standixonentertainment page was designed by a lady in Romania, Alex Designs, except for the "For You" page. I did that in Sitespinner by copying the elements of my site background into Sitespinner and then doing the rest of the text and links. My next project will be to make the box in a color like gold and maybe look at the shading to change the slope of the shade. Howard "Be kind, I'm learning..." |
