Hi GAUD121,
The simplest navigation bar is a text object with a series of links inside it. If you are using SiteSpinner, there is an example of this method on the opening page of the project 'spinintro.ims' which ships with SS. Cheers Bruceee |

After reinstalling windows xp, I have to do quite a lot to get my web pages back into SS.
One problem I'm having is with the navigation bars. I use image bars and they look good on the page and preview, but when I add the text it looks good on the workpage, but all off on the preview page. Suggestions? Thanks. |

Can you publish the preview page as a test page, and post a link to it?
It will help a lot if we can see what you are trying to do. Also what browser are you using for preview -- that may be relevant |

I don't seem to be able to publish just the index page. I don't want to publish to my web site (louiseandalan.com)and mess up my web site, which looks ok.
The problem is I am trying to recreate the web site in SS, because the reformatting my HD wiped out what I had in SS. I seemed to be able to upload the whole site using the free iHostVM selection. It looks like it published and the Export Progress said the Destination Dir is: www.louiseandalan.co/myimsfilename.ims Yes, it does just say .co, not .com. The Transfer status lists some files that were not found, but I haven't completed bringing in all the images, so that's ok for now. But, I can't find the www.louiseandalan.co/myimsfilename.ims on the web, which is what you wanted to look at, I believe. Where am I going wrong Oh, I am using Foxfire as my browser, but I have EI and Netscape, which I haven't checked out on the preview yet. Thanks, Louise |

I appreciate you don't want to screw up your site by publishing something that does not work
A workaround is to name your test page 'test' or similar -- then you can publish just that page, with errors, without screwing up anything else. If you can upload the project file as well as you are trying to do, so much the better. I think your domain name should be 'com' and not 'co'. You may have a typo in your publish profile. This would explain why your upload did not work -- it went to a domain that does not exist. |

I have uploaded the page, named Test, and it does upload. However, I am not be able to access that page on the internet. I just get my web site, without a page called Test.
Not sure what to try next. Thanks, Louise |

If you successfully uploaded the page to your site, it should appear in your browser as
http://www.louiseandalan.com/Test.html. I looked for that URL and also 'test.html' without finding anything. Review where you published to -- if it is somewhere on your site, you should be able to browse to it with your FTP -- either with the one built into SiteSpinner or whatever other FTP program you are using. If you can't find it, it means you have published to the wrong place. If you are hopelessly stuck there, another possiibility is to email me your project file -- address in my public profile. |

I think, this thread runs out of the topic.
I have the problem to create a easy to use navigation bar. Meanwhile I have found the object trigger options, but don´t seems to be the solution. I´m missing a function like overlays.... Anyway, who can help me to create a simple navigation? Thanks in advance Kai, Germany |

One simple navigation method is a series of text links as at the bottom of the VM Home page. If that is what you want, how-to details are in the "Making Links" tutorial under Help > Tutorials.
For more advanced navigation, see the "Making Buttons" and "Drop-Down Menus" tutorials. |

If you are making the links in the Text Editor, the Link Editor there has an option to set the link color. Failing that, there are further settings in the Page Editor > Links, Fonts tab.
