My company logo has been designed with a white background. I insert the graphic on my page, and the white appears as a box around the logo, but I want my background to show everywhere the white is within my logo.....basically so the logo is on top of the background, without the white box. Anyone got an answer how to do this?

If white is only used as the background color (i.e., not included within the logo itself), you could try changing it to transparent and saving it as a PNG file. SiteSpinner can do this using the Shading Editor->Fill Settings and setting the background via the Transparency Mapping setting. SiteSpinner's tool to do this is not the best; I have found that Paint.Net or GIMP does a better job.

Ofcourse best is if you know/learn how to work with images yourself it's really very satisfying to learn that. For now why dont you upload the logo in it's largest/best format and post a link (url)to it here...i will then convert it for you to a gif where the current white box is gone (transparent) so you can place it over anything. Next...download my favourite and FREE graphics-prog here: http://download.cnet.com/Photo...54493.html?tag=mncol and learn how to do this yourself File > Open > "yourlogo"> Image > Transparent-color there you choose whatever color in your current image you want to be transparent...in this case the white surrounding (box) Then you save it as a .GIF Then you import it to SS and the white box is gone. If the borders are not clean try playing with this setting in SS Object > Geometry > "Blend Edges" Radio |

Thanks! You're right though....the transparency mapping does work, but not well. It just basically rough outlines the image. Thanks, I'll try paint.net next.

Ok..i made 2 versions to show problems that you may encounter doing what i did (on the quick) Logo1: Logo2: All the white part is now transparent (Invisible) Since your original was not very clean...meaning the borders of the characters where not deep black but darkgrey and the red was not deep red at the borders i cut off/replaced a little more in Logo2 as you should see (on a darker background). replacing even more will make it ugly...i guess Logo2 is best. To get it even better i need to know...or better have the complete background to make even smoother transitions at the borders To download them: Right-click > Save image as dont forget it's a gif ...keep it gif to keep it transparent. To get this as perfect as possible you could instead try to find the font (or similar) that is used to make the characters (try dafont.com) 1) Install that character on your PC (configuration) 2) Make the text in SS using that font trough using the "Title" button (left) 3) Add the missing lines by creating them using: Object > Shapes That will make as perfect as possible with sharp as possible borders. Thanks Radio. I've been trying to use photo Filtre as well and am having issues losing quality in re-saving them. I'm trying adjustments, which seem to help in the tolerance, but something always seems to not be just not perfect. Yours looks the best, but now it's missing the bottom most black line under the word construction. Can you fix/change that, as your version looks the cleanest. I'd let you know what my background is, but I haven't definitively made that choice yet. I'm new, messing around and learning my way, so I don't want to have you work with something thats not 100% yet, and most likely won't be for a while. Thanks again. You're a huge help.

Ok here it is with the line on the bottom you could make such line also in SS but i understand you try to achieve that old handmade look: I made it exactly like i described above but in addition i did some pixel by pixel repairing (pencil tool in Photofiltre). Radio |
