SSPro beta

Its been a while now since I have used the Password facility and I do not seem to be able to get it to work correctly.

Having set the password with a link on a failed password page (already uploaded), and then testing in preview with it working as it should, once uploaded it doesnt.

If you go to the page with the password it just jumps straight to the failed link.

See here on the test site www.202020taxis.com/new-company enter the site and go to the Notice-Board link. This page has the password streamline and you can see that it jumps to the failed link page straight away.

Also, if the failed password page is removed you jump straight to the index page

Also, I have noticed that in the Page Editor>Header>Link on failed password drop down box you have to enter a full link as no project pages show up. I would have thought that all the project pages would have been there. This is the same in SSV2.7f

The ims file for this project can be found at

Thanks Andy

In Firefox the password works as it used to, so I guess you are using IE7.

With the changes to IE over the last year or so, the Page Editor > Header tab password feature no longer works in IE. This makes it unusable. I believe that MS has some further IE changes scheduled next month, so that may fix the problem.

In the meantime. there are other ways of pass-wording a page -- one is covered in the tutorials (Help > Tutorials) under the page "FormUse".

Hi Bruceee.. long time no chat! Thanks for the reply. So it may work if MS do some changes. If that is the case then perhaps it might be better to include this information in SS in the appropriate place in the Page Editor>Password section.. along the lines of "To avoid wasting an hour of your life the password may not work if you are using IE7" Big Grin

I will take a look at your suggestion later today.

Thanks Andy
