Using SS-Pro 2.9d on Vista. When using the eye-dropper in the text editor, the visible cursor is not visible. Moving the mouse shows the cursor is active as the color swatch changes in the tool bar, but you do not know where the cursor is.

Thanks for reporting this.

I don't see that on our Vista systems. You are talking about the eye-dropper shaped, mouse pointer, right? It should be outlined in the inverse of the screen color underneath it.

Do the droppers in the color swatches on the Shading, Geometry or Quick Properties editors show up?

Are you using a non-standard theme or color scheme?

I think I found the problem. I had mouse trails enabled. When I turn them off, the eye-drop cursor came back.

With mouse trails enabled, I only see this problem with SS, WE, and S-Pro. No problems with Flash CS4, Paint.Net, Xara, gimp, and others.

Ok, I see it not working with Mouse Trails turned on. It may be related to the inverse drawing of the mouse pointer - inversing iself out of existence. We will try to fix this.

Follow up: It looks like the problem is with reading the pixel color from the screen. When SS does that the mouse, if trails are on, disappears.

Just out of curiosity, do the other programs you mentioned change colors as the mouse moves?

Xara 4, PaintShop Pro 12, and my IDM screen toobar color picker do; the rest use a static color swatch.
