After three days of trying to figure out what in the world I did wrong with an update to my website I finally noticed that one of the letters that is capitalized in the middle of the filename was being changed to lowercase after publishing so while it was technically there it couldn't be found when loading the page. The filename is the same as the original i the sitespinner file, but when you go to publish you can see that the one letter was made lowercase in the publishing report and then, of course, it's wrong when I go to upload to my site. The strangest thing of all is that it only has done this starting on this website (the fourth or fifth I've made from this computer) and it doesn't change all of the filenames, just some random ones. Anyone else ever heard of this or have any idea why it's doing that?

Windows does not care about filename capitalization, but other Operating Systems like Unix as used on servers do.

If you you have problems with "sticky" pages using the old capitalization, I suggest just delete them and republish.

In preview, delete all files in your SiteSpinner Preview folder, then Preview "All".

My computer has no problem with the files on preview, it's only the published files viewed online after uploading. Republishing and re-uploading does nothing to fix it. I had to go in and manually change the capitalization on the individual files that were "changed". Even more strange to me is that I just discovered that some of the files it changes the name of work with the new capitalization and some don't. So I now am having to check every file after it is uploaded and just change the ones that aren't functioning.

The important thing in Windows is to delete the old files. So before you publish, delete the relevant old pages from your publish folder.

If you don't do this, Windows is likely to save the file using the old capitalization -- as far as it is concerned, the capitalization has not changed.

But if your server is Linux based, it very much cares about about the capitalization. So you have no problems in preview or on your local computer -- only when you get the files uploaded to your host.
