Hi,
I try to get naming rights on this 'bug'. What I want to do in my tekst is this: yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp . uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu . uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu That is possible in the text editor But when I "save and close" I get this in the workwindow and in internet explorer. yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp . uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu . uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu So there is suddenly a line of white in between. Rob. |

I don't understand those long words -- they must be Dutch
In the text editor, try this: Sometimes you can get strange invisible characters in your text which make a mess of the formatting. Especially when you paste in from some external source. If you paste in as plain text, that removes those problem characters. As a test, I tried just typing in the characters you posted -- no cut and paste. That worked normally for me. |

Hi Brucee,
I think there is a misunderstanding. What I mean is this: yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy what is english difficult yyyyyyy [LIST]uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu [LIST]uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu becomes: yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy what is englisch difficultyyyyyyy [LIST]uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu [LIST]uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu (didn't notice the possibility of making black dots before in this editor so I used a point .) I tried to cut it to the windows clipboard en then past it again as plain text in the text ecitor of SS and edited again. But then in the workwindow I get a line of white.... In "Word" is what I mean possible... |

[LIST] in my previous contribution must be a black dot like: . but then larger.
So I still Don't understand how to make a black dot in this editor |

Ok, I think I see the problem now. Where you have written [LIST] is where you want to use text bullets?
I certainly see the extra blank line, but sorry, it's not a SiteSpinner bug. (I think!) It's just the way browsers display bulleted text. One easy workaround is to split your text into two text objects -- then you can set the text object positions (the gap) to be what you want. Hope I understood correctly this time |

Yes, now you understand it correct but the solution of cutting the text in two pieces don't work. This is Difficult to explain.
The text box of the 'bullet-part' becomes on the upside larger then the text itself and I can't make it smaller. So I have to move the text box partly over the other one. In the workwindow the situation is oke then But When I previeuw the bullet part moves over the upper part of the text... |

Basically, whenever you create a bullet of any kind a space is inserted by your browser above and below the bulleted list. To make matters worse, each of the different browsers handle bulleted lists differently. We are aware that the display in the Text Editor is different than what is Published. The best advice I can give is to create your bulleted list without any space above or below. That will at least minimize what gets published.

Oke,But it seems strange to me that the solution Bruceee suggested doesn't work in this case.
I won't die of course because there is a white line So I continue with working on other things. Thank you both for reply. Rob. |

For two text objects, with the bottom one bulleted, the workpage view does not match the preview or published view. You can overlap them slightly to close up the gap. In this case, you can't entirely rely on what the workpage view tells you -- so you have to adjust then preview, adjust then preview. And so on.
The gap will vary between browsers. If you get it exactly right for one browser, it may be off for another. For this reason, I'd always have a gap that is a little too big -- that way you can avoid a text overlap on another browser which is a much worse problem. |
