Hi

Think I may have mentioned this before ?

In the current Webdwarf if you load a page to publish, click on publish, export..files on disk, Local publish directory...

Type in a folder name that does NOT exist, then click publish. WD will ask if you would like to create that folder, click 'yes/ok' then wd will imediately 'crash/shutdown' !

Well it does on my pc and everytime Smile

Hmmm, doesn't happen for me with WD 2.50.f and Windows XP (Service Pack 2).

What folder name are you using? I tried one called "JUNK" and also "C:\JUNK" -- both worked for me.

Hi Bruceee

I tried various different names and on different drives and they all crash Confused

The only thing different between us is I have SP1...

Probably looks like it's an odd thing going on with my pc then hopefully. It's hardly an important issue anyway, I just came across it by mistake !

Cheers
Andy

If you are not planning to upgrade to Vista anytime soon, I suggest you get SP2. It contained quite a few security patches in addition to making XP more stable. I would worry more about the security holes.

Hi Larry

From what I've heard about vista I wouldn't touch it with a very very long barge pole !

And re sp2 Hmmm, I think that one could go on for a very long time Wink

I carefully looked into it when I got my new pc and decided I would never touch it as far as I am concerned it is a HUGE download of garbage.

Re the few 'security' patches that there are in it in my opinion isn't worth the hassle of sp2 in the first place. I have so much security software on here theres not alot going to bother this pc , and I go to some pretty gloomy & seedy places Big Grin

I have heard SO many problems from friends and others about all the problems caused my 'upgrading' to sp2 as well , and just the general 'hot fixes' are often bad enough !

As far as I am concerned re software, if you like, it works, it has no bugs, then LEAVE IT ALONE !!!

Many thanks for the advice though !

I am a stuborn old bugger lol.

Regards
Andy

Next time you are off-line, try disabling all that security software, and try your publish test again.

It's funny because I often get new program Installers to create a folder for me on install and it always works ok Smile

If somebody else has Web Dwarf, maybe they could try it to see if this is "just-an-Andy" problem. Here's hoping....
