Not sure if anyone else has noticed this:

Sometimes, when I publish a project to a folder that already has (an older version) of the project in it, the HTML code sometimes appears as text on the background of the pages when they are viewed in a browser (any browser). The workaround to eliminate this happening is to simply delete the old HTML files from the folder that the project is being published to. No need to delete the old image and geometry folders.

PS- This is only evident when publishing to a folder on the hard drive... I have not published directly to the web.

How does it perform in preview? This is essentially the same operation as a publish to disk.

I have not seen a fault anything like this.

Can you say what the HTML actually is -- is it the HTML code for the old page of the same name? Once the fault occurs, does it persist? I.e. shut down the browser and reopen it -- do you still get the same background? Does it persist across a reboot?

As soon as I can recreate it Bruceee I will let you know and post a screenshot. I have never bothered to read what the HTML says, but it appears as black text on the background layer of the page. It doesn't seem to happen in preview, but only when I publish to a folder that contains the old HTML (the stuff that I'm updating). It does persist across a reboot, and in the past when I have published to disk I have even FTP'd these affected pages to the net and it has been evident there.

Anyway, hopefully a screen shot to follow...

PS- This happens on the Dell Wink not on the iBook. Haha.

Oh I am disappointed -- I was sure it was the iBook again. Smile

If this fault remains after FTPing the file to the net, and is visible on another computer, it would indicate a bug in the publish process. When you do your screen shot, can you also post the page on the web somewhere? It should also be possible to compare the html code generated in preview with that of the published version -- there should be a significant difference.

Now I bet you won't be able to recreate it...

Actually, Cutting link text wil sometimes leave a url in the text. I've seen this a lot and believe it's fairly common.

I think this is different issue to the one Scotty has been concerned with.

I believe the link text issue is on the VM do-list. The workaround is to expand hyperlinks before cutting/copying. That way you can avoid copying partial links -- which can make life awkward Smile
