I've been using SS Pro for a few weeks now and so far it has gone ok.
Suddenly when I want to edit text, I get an error message saying the program has encountered a problem and has to close down.
I've tried various blocks of text but all give the same result.
This is a major problem as my website is live and I need to make changes (www.coreden.com)

Have you tried to install the newer Beta 6 to see if this will fix your problem? But Beta 6 is still not recommended for production use.

Hi.
No I haven't.
I've tried copy/paste off the published website but the minute I hit the text icon it crashes.
Same thing happens on my other website.
I'll have a look at beta 6, thanks

I suspect your system had a hiccup and changed a bit somewhere in the program, causing your crash. Re-installing would probably fix the problem, but if you "upgrade" to Beta 6 then you'll be re-installing anyway.

Like Larry says, SSPro betas really shouldn't be used for live production usage since there may be inconsistencies when the final version is released. That being said, if you are using SSPro beta for your production site then you're basically stuck with it because anything done with it isn't backwards compatible with WebEngine or SS.

BigG,

Let us know if it happens again. We have had another report like yours. We think we know what is causing the actual crash but we are not sure what is changing to put it in that situation some time after installing.
