There is a particularly annoying bug in SiteSpinner whereby sometimes when you open a text box to edit the text, it opens, but the text disappears and there's nothing to edit! It is then impossible to edit the text at all. If you then save the text, all your text disappears for good, and the text box on the page is seen to be empty.

Is this already a recognised bug, and if so, is there any way around it?

A couple of things to check:
  • Make sure you are using the latest SiteSpinner. Check the status bar at the bottom -- it should say exactly this: Ver.2.50.f
  • If you are importing text from web pages or other documents, paste into the text editor via the 'Paste Plain Text' option -- this strips out strange formatting characters that can screw things up.

I usually copy and paste to notepad from a site, then paste it in Site Spinner.
Gets rid of those "strange formatting characters"
    ..
A note...sometimes I used to think the text box was empty, but it was a matter of the backgound in text box being the same colour as the font used.

    Dear Bruceee and dB,

Thanks for your prompt replies. I discovered that I had v2.50b. I've just downloaded 2.50f....let's see what happens. Derry gave me the same advice about having the lastest download, but I thought I had it, but I was wrong.

    Thanks again!
