I installed Sitespinner a couple of days ago. I have no HTML experience and was able to construct a nice site in a couple of days. I have been very pleased with both the software and the support available. However, I went to publish and the software crashed. And now it stops running everytime I try to load my file--no error message, just exits out. The file was reasonably large with lots of graphics...

I'm a little distressed at this point as I'm working against a deadline. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

Some people would be a lot distressed Smile

Have you tried rebooting your computer in case it is a Windows thing rather than a SiteSpinner thing? What version of Windows and what version of SiteSpinner are you using? In SiteSpinner, the version number shows on the status bar at the bottom of the workpage -- or use Help > About SiteSpinner V2.

The limits of SiteSpinner are 998 pages, and 2500 images in one project. The program should stop gracefully at that point, and decline to create further pages or accept further images.

As your problem may be image related, try renaming one or more of your image directories, or moving images out of their current directories. This takes some of the image processing load off SiteSpinner, and may allow you to at least open your project again.

I have created a project in Web Engine......Total of 28 pages, just boxes, sparse test, link and click behavior only. I was creating a harness just to display page concept and behavior ....absolutely no contents or images. I can load the project but evertime I try to preview a page or the project the program crashes. I get a Windows "WebEngine V2 Application has encountered a problem and needs to close, should we tell Microsoft". I've tried to use Sitespinner to view the project and get a similar exit and error message. At this point I would suppose that my project is broken. I'm using WebEngine == 2.00 N BETA & Sitespinner 2.70f. Is there a solution for this?

Ok...I found out why my project was crashing both Web Engine and Sitespinner.....I began developing in Web Engine because it allows you to add Defined Behavior to objects on the page. I was Defining Mouse Click trigger Events to open Page Links. However, I was typing the page link names into the page link field. Apperently you cannot do that....You must select the page for the drop down list for the page selection to be valid and accepted, otherwise the Behavior Event Editor dialogue blanks the field at "OK". So I had several triggers defined to trigger a null page. Once I found the null page triggers and selected the appropriate pages from the dropdown list I was allowed to load the page or project to be previewed without crashing. VM probably needs to fix or protect the Behavior Event Editor -Links tab - Page Link field - to allow or deny manual edits. Thanx
