Whenever I click preview all pages in project, the program will crash. The program will also crash every time I click on preview current page. This happens on every page except for one in the project. The page that it does not crash on is very similar to the other ones. I have tried deleting everything on one of the pages that crashes, and the preview page will still crash. The program also crashes when I try to publish the webpage to the hard drive. I have tried opening the project on another computer with the same results. It only happens with the one project file, if I open the tutorials and try to preview or publish, it works fine. I’m sure what to do any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

HiMikes.
Check your page names. They might be starting with not valid character.
Than we'll see other solutions.

I checked the page names, they seemed alright. Ive recently tried deleting all the items on a page in the objects tab, instead of just off of the desktop tab. The page loaded when it was blank so maybe its just one object causeing a problem in there?

I agree -- there may be is some object, maybe an image, that you have on all your pages except one. Be suspicious of anything you have added recently.

When you delete objects, I suggest you also Edit > Clean Components. Otherwise the deletion may appear to have no effect.

Unfortunately it will be a process of elimination to find this object -- if that is what it turns out to be. I suggest before you start, you save a copy of your project as it is now -- VM will be interested in it, as SS should not crash like this.

If you have no luck, please email me your project (address in my public profile) and I will take a look, running my own process of elimination.

After playing around with getting rid of some items. I found there was a dublicate of a group I made with a bunch of mouse overs that was causing the problem. After deleting it and doing a Clean components it worked again!

Thanks for the help

Well done!!

Have you got a copy of the project in its faulty state? If you can forward to me, I will clean it up, deleting all irrelevant pages and objects, then forward on to VM.

Or you can send it directly to VM, and then I don't get to play with it Frown

Hi Mikes,

Did you get a chance to send Bruceee your project? If not, we would really like to see (and fix) the bug you discovered.

Prompted by this, I have just checked my email and I have the file. A preview "all" crashes my SSPro too.

I will prune the file down to its essential elements and pass it on to VM. Thank you Mikes -- this is a bug that won't be around much longer.

Update:

The issue is caused by large objects in the Mobile layout -- I am sure accidental ones. As you are not using Mobile layout, an easy fix in this case is to switch to Destop only layout.

For anyone else with this problem who wants Mobile layout, the fix is to select the large object, and with the Quick Editor, Reset the transformations. Repeat for any other large objects.

As there will probably be some detective work required to figure out how the large objects got there in the first place, I have passed your whole original file, unchanged on to VM.
