Hello. First, I love this program. Now on to the problem.
I noticed in v2.7b that if you create a form (I used 2 text boxes and 1 text area if that matters) and have the page centered horizontally, the page with the form moves a little down the screen and a little to the left of where it is supposed to be in Firefox only. This problem does not occur in IE or Opera. If you take the form out, the page loads in the proper location. If you un-center the page, it loads in the proper location. I hope this can be fixed, or I have to continue using webformdesigner (cool program, but it is nice to have it built in to the best program, SS) Thanks for your help. |

I can see the problem using SS V2.70b but I'm not sure whether it is Firefox or something SS is doing.
When shifted down, Firefox actually starts displaying the page from about 15px before the top. When shifted across to the left, FF is actually matching IE for centering. With no form present, but centering applied, FF shifts the page to the right -- it starts displaying about 10px before the left edge. I tested this designing for 800 wide and viewing at 1024. |

Thank you for the reply. I am not sure where the fault lies for the problem either. What I can tell you, is when I create a form in webformdesigner and place the code in a code box, It displays properly.
I looked at the code for the webformdesigner and SS pages, and the only significant difference that I can see is that webformdesigner uses absolute positioning for the form itself rather than just for the form elements (ie. text box, text area, etc.) Here is an example of what is missing from SS in my comparison: <div id="WFDForm" style="position:relative;left:0px;top:0px;width:280px;height:186px;"> Please don't think that I know what I am talking about, because I really don't. I just looked at the code and noticed this. I have no idea whether or not this matters. Thanks again for your help. |

If anyone wants to duplicate this problem, put a 100px square form button in the top left corner, with horizontal page centering on. Firefox will show the button clearly not the the top left corner. This shows the vertical shift. It's harder to recreate the horizontal shift which I still see -- but I think in practice that will be much less of an issue.
A workaround worth trying is to group all the form components into a permanent group (button on the bottom toolbar). This worked for me in a simple test case -- maybe it will for you too. |

Yeah Bruceee, you are the man. This definately worked. Why, I don't know, but it worked. I knew you would figure something out.
Thank you very much for your time. Good bye webformdesigner |

Hi Brucee
I have been having this exact same problem - the moment I add a form, the whole page moves down about 15px and the FireFox scroll bar appears - even though I have SS page size set to less than display size. Doesn't happen in IE7 or when I un-center the page. You mentioned grouping the form items could help - how do I do this ? - (they are all over the page and mixed in with other objects) Michael |

Hold down the CTRL key as you click each object in turn. This creates a temporary group that you can make permanent when confident you have only those form objects you want.
Another solution is to use the CSS code Larry suggested in this thread. |
