I get this error whenever I try to run the sitespinnerv2 installation file:
"Setup requires _SETUP.DLL and _ISRES.DLL located in _SETUP.LIB in order to operate properly. Please make sure that these files are located in setup.exe." After I double click on the sitespinnerv2 installation file to run it, the process runs upto 35 % installation and then I get the above mentioned error. I have downloaded _SETUP.DLL and _ISRES.DLL and put them in my \WINDOWS\System32\ folder , but I still get the error. My operating system is WINDOWS XP Professional. I have full administrator rights on my machine. One more error which I also get is this: Error Title: Setup Initialization Error "Setup is unable to locate the script file <C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER\LOCALS~1\TEMP\IXP004.TMP\SETUP.INS> which is needed to complete the installation. Error 107." ------------------------------------------- I have deleted all my temporary files by running the disk cleanup wizard, but I still get the error while trying to install sitespinnerv2. Those files (setup.dll, _isres.dll, setup.lib and setup.ins) are part of the installation package. If they can't be found it means the package you downloaded must have been damagaged in transit. You will need to download the file again.
Instructions for checking whether the file is complete (ie. undamaged) can be found here. |

Downloaded it again but in vain, I still get the same error.
I checked if the files that I downloaded had the digital signatures and stuff, yes they do. I used ctrl+alt+del to check what processes were being run when I ran the installer sitespinnerv2.There were two processes setup.exe, wowexec.exe and a third one _SERVER.exe which were running. Are these supposed to run with the setup ? I ended those three processes and ran the setup again, the same errors again and the same three processes are run when I run the sitespinnerv2 installation. |

There should be a PreSetup.exe setup.exe and a wowexec.exe. I don't don't know what _Server.exe is but you are looking during an error so things could be different.
You may have a setup.exe left running from the first failure that is causing problems or the files you added (_isres.dll etc) may be causing problems. (not sure where you got them from but they are InstallShield files and there are probably many different versions) I would try removing those file that you added and re-booting your machine. Then try to install again. |

I have tried almost everything except the right thing in this scenario but it just doesn't work.

I don't know what could be happening there. As I said those files (setup.dll etc) are part of the installer package so they must be here if the package is ok.
Some suggestions: Try a search of your system for those files. Maybe there are old, incorrect versions left over from some other installion. If you find them, remove all of them (if they aren't needed by something else) or rename them and try to install again. If you see the message "Setup is unable to locate the script file...", before exiting, try looking in the temp directory and see if all the setup files are there or not. Perhaps try downloading and installing WebDwarf V2 or WebEngine V2. They use the same installer and that will confirm whether the SiteSpinner package is the problem. |

Are you seeing the exact same error message? If not, what do you see?

Exactly the same thing word for word, and the Digital signature on the file is OK it dates from August 10 don't know if this can help.
I downloaded from C download then from Znet download both had OK digital signatures. the one from http://www.sofotex.com/Web-Dwarf-download_L6458.htmlhad a bad signatureso I deleted without trying to install, did yet again another run of clean up exe. all in all I've downloaded 6 times tried to install 5- 1 was corrupted, used download again from sofonet tried to install got a false error message telling not enough memory I run a pentium4 3ghz 512mb and use only 46% of CPU at the time of install I had 247420K available in physical and Kernel was total 68484 paged 52684 non paged 15800 the commit charge peak was 277360 so has you can see I had more than enough memory This is a total mystery we are 2 members both with XP one pro and one home me I also have SP2 installed computer is brand new don't know about the other member but I have been installing programs and don't have problems only this 1 maybe it is not compatible with XP + SP2 ? Would it be possible to e-mail us the zip file in a non self extracting file? Are there other "safe" download site you can recommend? |

Well, if the digital signature is ok (and it says "Virtual Mechanics Inc." not something else), then the file [I]must[/I} be ok.
XP SP2 is not the problem in itself. Many people have installed with that. It may be that other setup pieces have been left on your system and something is getting confused. We don't have a zipped verion. If you want to try something, the files are extracted to your TEMP directory (typically "C:\Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Local\") into a folder named "IXP000.TMP" (or IXP001.TMP, etc.) when you run the setup prorgam. That folder should be there if you look while the error message is being displayed. It will contain SETUP.EXE, _SETUP.DLL, _SETUP.LIB, SETUP.INS and a few other files. If you are getting the same message as above ("Setup is unable to locate the script file <C:\DOCUME~1\OWNER\LOCALS~1\TEMP\IXP004.TMP\SETUP.INS>") it may be that you have several IXP00n.TMP folders from other installations or attemps. Note the 4 in the error message's "IXP004". That means the setup saw 3 other IXP00n folders. You might try removing or renaming those. You might also try moving the extracted files to a folder in the root of your C: drive (say "C:\Test\") and running them from there. Also, before you start, check your task manager to make sure no setup or _wowexec processes are running, |
