I went to try and save my project that I've worked on for an entire day (almost 8 straight hours), and it kept trying to save one of the pictures I had copied and pasted, in jpeg. I had to just completely not save any of it. I can redo what I've done, it's not hard, but time consuming. I've got smoke bellowing out my ears now...I'm sure there is an easy solution to this, but there was nothing I could find in the "help" topics in the program itself. Someone please advise so this doesn't happen tomorrow. Thank you!

When you copy and paste an image into SiteSpinner, you are using a temporary copy pasted from the clipboard. Until you save it, it does not really exist on your computer as a file that SiteSpinner can reload. (If the image stays on the clipboard and is not saved as a file, when you turn off the computer, it is gone forever.)

When you save a project that has a pasted image, SiteSpinner will ask you for a location to save the image so it can be loaded when you once again open the project. When the image is saved, SiteSpinner will continue to save the entire project.

If this does not help, can you restate what went wrong?

First of all, Larry, you never cease to amaze me with your detailed and accurate "computer savvy" responses. I don't know why you retired. You could still be doing the same thing and getting paid for it, but here you are giving unbelievable advice to all forum memebers for free. I salute you.

Now Indigo. As normal, what Larry says is correct. But, it may be a better idea to use the "Mona Lisa" icon to insert your image from a file loaction.

That way, SS will "collect" that image, and include it into your Published project.

WHEW!!! Thank you Larry!!!!
I didn't know that it will still save your project after you designate a place for any copy/pasted pics. I was afraid that it would save my entire project as the pic.

I use the Mona Lisa icon, have to in order for my site to upload properly.

Now I'm having an issue with my buttons not remaining locked when moving between project pages...aaggghhh....I'm searching for past posts regarding that.

Thank you again!!!

Not quite sure what you mean there.

Do you have the same buttons on several pages, and wan't to lock their position?

If so, how are you doing it? If you copy an object and paste it onto other pages, locking it on the original page will have no affect on the others.

You can either "Clone" or "Include" the object on other pages (context menu on right click).

Cloning allows you to make changes to an object, and the changes will reflect accross all clones. However, each clone's position is unique, and can be moved to any position.

I am guessing that your best choice would be to "Include" you buttons. When included, if you move the object on one page, it will be carried accross all pages.

Once one of the includes is locked, they will all be locked.

Hope I read the problem in your post correctly.

Cheers,
Terry

Hi, Terry, thank you for posting.

It's several different buttons, some of which are the same, but of course, I don't put a button on the same page the button is for (that's always been a pet peeve of mine...why put a home button on the home page?). I've tried "including on all pages" and it didn't phase it. I didn't use the clone feature because I didn't necessarily want the same buttons on each page. I found out on an earlier practice project, what you were talking about regarding copying and pasting, so I didn't use that either.

So, knowing it is the long way to do it but hoping that it would work best, I did each button individually per page. What I also don't get is why the lock isn't holding on some pages, but does on others.

I'm working on it again today, hoping that I can get this fixed.

Thank you again for taking the time to read my post and making some suggestions. Have a super day!
Brandy
