Hi

No big deal and sorry if it's already been covered.

I have a load of 60x60 .gif white squares lined up with snap grid res of 10. All the squares have a 1 thick (pixel?) black outline around them. After 2 years ( I'm not to quick Frown ) It dawned of me to just draw a line around the .gif square instead to save me doing it in WD. After realizing the square needed to be 61x61 to match the others in WD ( Strange, I thought it would either be the same or 62x62 ! ) I found a problem, all was fine until I did a preview.

Even though the new squares are lined up perfectly with the others using the snap grid in preview they are all 1 x 1 pixel out of alignment. I have tried looking at them in IE7 & FF.

Hardly a major deal but the 'working window' does really need to represent what it will actually look like !

Regards
Andy

There is often a one pixel white or transparent edge on the left and top of SS/WD created images. This probably explains the size discrepancy.

This edge might also explain the misalignment -- if you posted a test page I'm sure it would be clearer.

Hi Bruceee

Test page

The boxes with red dots are the images that have a black surround and are 61x61 pixels.

All the other boxes are 60x60 and have a 1 thick outline.

As you can see in the preview screenshot all the red spot boxes are now 1 pixel to the right and 1 pixel down.

I tried to recreate the problem you showed but can't. Obviously I am doing something a little different to what you did.

However I did find some little anomalies of my own -- mainly with regard to image sizing -- but nothing new.

I agree it would be nice if the workpage exactly matched the preview -- but in this and other areas, it is nothing more than a good approximation. If you want an accurate view of what your published page will be like, use the preview function -- that should match exactly.

Maybe it's just a WD thing, or was that what you were trying it in ?

Like I said though it's no great hardship I just thought I would mention it in case there was something not quite right and VM needed to know.

Thanks for looking into it for me though.

Andy
