Hi everyone.
I am having some annoying problems with SS.
It keeps crashing when I try to insert a form into my project.
It doesn't do it with a new project so it is specific to what I'm working on at the moment.

Can someone give some suggestions?

I have uninstalled the application and re-installed, rebooted too and cleaned un used components from the project.
It did this with my trial version but I thought it might go away with upgrade. Obviously not!

How are you inserting the form code into your project? Is this happening when you drop any form object on the work page, or is the form being creates by a 3rd party tool and inserted into your project?

Since this is happening on your existing project and not a new one, this should indicate that SS does not have a problem. Is there any way you can zip up your project and post it so it can be downloaded and reviewed?

yeah, I can try and post it later.
It is when I am using the normal form object in SS not a 3rd party object.
My site is up online but I don't know if that is any use without the SS project files?

If you are using auto-backup when you publish, then your site should have a copy of your project ims file. What is its file name?

hi larry.

I managed to get forms working by creating a new page and creating a text box on the new page. the program didn't crash so I copied the box and pasted it onto the page I wanted it on. Since the text box form was on the page I wanted it, I can now create forms directly on that page!! It is very weird. I did have code from website form generator or something but removed that before I started playing around. There might have been some hidden code remaining from that form causing corruption?! I'm not sure but it's working anyway.
Thanks.

It seems almost certain that this is a bug in SiteSpinner. It should not crash, whatever you throw at it. It looks like some interaction between the form objects and something else on that page.

Can you recreate a simple project that illustrates the problem? Or just a stripped down version of your project that crashes when you add a form object?

If so, that would be a tremendous help to VM in fixing the problem.
