I have created a page with a single large photo as a background. It renders fine in HTML preview, but when it is uploaded, the transparent shapes shift, with the background rendered into them. On my server, the gray color I chose to fill in around the background image, is covering the background image everywhere except the boxes shapes are. When the display window is expanded, these boxes shift as well. This is the display in both Firefox and IE. I have fiddled with this for hours. I don't have a clue what is wong.
See it at ozarkwebsolutions.com Thanks |

That is normal behavior for a background image. You have used the "center page" option for your page, but this does not apply to background images as the CSS code to perform page centering applies to the page body, not the background layer.
You can obtain the effect you want by: (1) turning off page centering, or (2) placing the image on our page as a normal image. Use the arrange tools to center it and the "To Back" button to make sure it will be placed behind all other objects on your page. BTW, your background image is not showing up in Firefox due to spaces being used in the file name. Firefox does not like file names with spaces. You need to either replace the spaces with another character (dash or underscore) or uuencode it (convert spaces to %20). |

Thanks Geez,
Does not make sense to me that that a background image is not considered a part of the page for these purposes. I did turn it off (just now). I think it is counter-intuitive to imagine centering a "special effect". Looks OK now, but there is some kind of rendering bug on my left "shape that shows the background gray color in the "phantom" corners. Something like amputee pain I guess. Thanks for jumping on this so fast. I love this tool, but really a menu structure makes no sense to me that places "centering" under "special effects". I would almost imagine it more logical as the default setting, especially with today's hugely wide monitors. Thanks again, AW |

The gray around your rounded corners shape is the grey background. Try using the Geometry Editor->Options tab and turn off the Render Background option. You can also try saving it as a PNG or PNG-8 which can render a transparent background to it will not show. A PNG-8 may also yield a smaller image size so it would load faster.
I agree that page centering should be a default - as well as a few other page options. Hopefully one day we will see a Options->Default Page Options menu item in addition to a Options->Project Options item. |
