As suggested by the tutorials or help, if you want to remove an item that is included on all pages from just one page you need to use cut instead of delete. However, if you select more than one object and cut it, it cuts it from all the pages. Has this been fixed in newer versions? I have SS 2.60f

That still works strangely in SS V2.70f too.

I tried this on the the tutorial index page first unlocking the two objects that comprise the banner. Then cut those two objects together.

Initially it looks as if you have cut from more than one page, but then when you go back and recheck, the cut has actually not been done at all.

Hi Bruceee
I upgraded to SitespinnerPro last week and have just noticed that each item I have CUT since the upgrade has been DELETED from all pages that it was included in!

Is this a bug? or has the program been modified to allow users to configure CUTS to delete things?

Any ideas?

My project file is at http://www.lochorama.com/lochorama.ims

Maybe this file is corrupted. Help!!!!

Cut of multiple included objects has worked strangely in SSPro previously, so the first thing to check is to make sure you have the latest version (2.90c or better).

I have just run a test with 2.90c with the tutorials project, and it can now cut from the wrong page. To illustrate, try these steps:
  • Open the tutorials project
  • On the index page, select the big swirl, obj4963, and the banner together.
  • Right click and "Cut"
  • Without clicking on the workpage, (important step) select another page from the drop-down page list at the top, say AdvTopics. The cut has now happened on that page.
  • If you go back now to the index page, you'll find the cut has been not done there after all.

It seems to me that if you cut and then click on the workpage, the cut will "stick". If you don't click on the workpage, the cut will be done from the next page you select and click on.

Mike, for your problem, I suggest you just reinstate the missing objects. I hope your project file hasn't been corrupted.

    Thanks Bruceee,
I'm using 2.90c. Went through your procedure but found no anomalies whatsoever!
I tested other SS projects and came to the conclusion that my project file is corrupted. But fortunately I found a "healthy" version on my server. So I'm going to "paste the html code" of the 20 pages or so created recently into that version... and hope that it doesn't corrupt itself again. Reckon I'll back it up sixteen times a day to make sure it doesn't!
    Kindest regards! Mike

I just tried your project Mike and I think I see what is going on. Your file is not corrupted but there is an anomaly in dual page mode.

When you cut an object from a page in the desktop or mobile tabs of dual page mode, it sets the object to ‘exclude from’ the layout you are working on. This is done so that an object can be cut from one layout without affecting the other. The same is true for the delete function.

But … I guess that included objects were not properly considered because, as you see, when an included object is excluded from a layout it is excluded on all pages. We will probably have to think about this to come up with a better solution. (suggestions anyone?)

In the meantime, you can get your objects back by right-clicking them in the ‘Objects’ tab and then un-checking ‘Exclude from Desktop Layout’ (or from mobile layout). To remove an included object from just one page, you will need to use the ‘Include on …’ option and un-check the page in question.
