Pugwash has drawn my attention to something that looks like a bug.

If you have an image on your page and make a copy of that image, the copied image gets a different geometry to the original. As it should.

But if you go to the Geometry Editor > Options tab and change the file path of one of the images, both images change.

I would expect this to happen for includes or clones. But should it also happen for copies?

Hmmm... well you are right (of course) that it changes both images.

It looks like it is not a bug in the code but a design quirk. The images bits are always shared among image objects. The advantage is you don't have two copies of the image sitting in memory. The disadvantage is that it is not consistent with the copy/clone model.

I'll pass it on to the developers who will have to have figure out what to do about it. In the meantime, to replace an image on one page only you must add a new picture and delete the old one.
