Hello,

I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but I was not able to find the answer so I have to ask. Why is it that my animated GIF files are not animated with Site Spinner? I've tried various GIFs and they remain unanimated. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong???

Thanks,
Daniela

Some possible reasons for no animation:

1. Preview or publish to see the animation. There is no animation visible on your workpage, and just as well Smile

2. Take care that you don't ask SiteSpinner to re-render the gif -- if you do. it will save only one frame of the gif and you will lose the animation. This means -- don't resize the gif or try to change it in any way from within SiteSpinner.

3. Don't try to drag-and-drop an animated gif from an external source into your workpage -- again you lose the animation.

If that does not help, can you post a link to one of the offending images?

I have tried all steps from 1-3 with no such luck. I don't have a link to the image cause I don't want to post it since it's not animated.

Do you have any other suggestions? I appreciate your reply.

Can you get any animated gif to work -- one of the many available on the web? Here's one I just tried (two cats) and it worked for me in preview: http://www.gifanimations.com/action/MenuSelection?group=1&parent=43

If that does not help...

It would be nice to see some of the images you are having the problem with. If you got them from the web, can you post a link to them? If you created them, can you upload them somehow to somewhere on the web and post a link to them? Or email a few to me as attachments. (Address in my profile.)

That will enable some independent tests. Is it a problem with the images or something else?

resizing gifs can also effect the animation, try using the gif with its original size settings.
