I am experimenting with Web Engine. I have a made a start point and an end point for the path of an object in the action editor. How do I get it to start on a mouseclick? The Behavior editor only has an option for "At Path End".

Hi Carel,
Try this: Select the object that you wish to animate and open the Action Editor. Under the Path tab > Object Path, select the path you. Press OK Open the Behavior Editor > Trigger Event tab > User Triggers, and check Mouse Select. Now click the Actions tab > When Not Active and uncheck 'Motion'. Click OK That should do it. - Derry |

I would loved to see some tutorials....
Here is what I do: with the object at the start coordinates I select the path with "start" checked. When I test this, the object starts to move on a mouseclick (thanks, Derry) and disappears off page. Now I move the object to the end position, open the action editor again, mark end and click on "stop", ok and do another test. Nothing happens. So far I have only been able to get something to start moving in a certain direction. But how do I input mid and endpoints? Whatever I am doing seems to cancel out the previous actions. |

If you are using the linear path buttons, that only sets one motion in the chosen direction. It uses the current location of the object as the start, mid or endpoint (depending on your setting)
What you would need is a path to follow if you want to change direction. You can, in theory, chain actions and events too using the behavoiur's trigger and metamorph options The key frame path will let you change the speed and other attributes bewteen points on a line but the current beta release's key frame path is not really working well. |

What I am trying to accomplish is a title that when clicked on, moves out of the way to a different position. I dont really care what kind of path it follows, just as long as it starts at one set of screen coordinates and ends up at another set of coordinates. At the moment I can only manage to set the object in motion. How do I get it to stop at a certain location?

Ok, what you need to do is use the path tool (or the line tool width the line width set to zero so it is not visible) to make a line that starts and ends where you want the title to start and end. Then, add an action to the title that is set to 'Follow Object Path' with the line object selected.
