Centering page effects unfortunately the follow object path function.
How to avoid it?

Have not had the time to try this, but in theory it should work.

Remove object path function, then re-apply it after applying page centering.

You just want to make things more difficult Eh?
i don't think is possible to remove a follow path without deleting the action.
No results with your suggestion.
Thank you.

I was surprised to find horizontal page centering upset animations like this but after a simple test (a little square following a circular path) I find that indeed it does.

Here is another suggestion: make the whole animation (object and path) on another page and put the page in an i-frame. That worked for me.

I also tried this which didn't work: make the animation into a permanent group. My test animation just stopped completely. However, a different animation may behave differently.

After a bit of sleep i found out that path objects are not effected by centering, so it's easy enough to put one around (z-order to fix) the shape you'd like to follow.

i'm also observing that delay on start animation set on multiple objects following the same path-objcet (a circle)has a different graphyc result fo IE and Firefox.
Bah? Frown

Can you publish a test page and post a link to it here? Also if you can make the .ims project file available too, that would help.

news from animation:
1) Follow Path unfortunately suffers also of the syndrome of centering pages when you apply different screen resolutions from 1024 768 to 1280 768 (but i'm sure involves also others)

Does it worth to publish that page?

Yes that would help. My previous test used a circle object and not a circle path. I tried just now to make a circle path (an Ellipse) using the "Draw a Path" tool and my SSPro would let me -- something strange happening there.

However, I was able to make closed path irregular shapes, and horizontal page centering didn't upset animations following those paths. So if you see a problem with paths, more details would help us to recreate your situation.

this is the link
if you set screen resolution on 1280*768 (example) the balls go somewhere else.
thank you for help.

i understood that the presence of an object on the left side of the screen (in my case the greek sign) influences the position of the path. If anybody is interested like "Brucee" please hurry i'm not going to keep it for too long. Sorry.

update:
my project is set for 1024 * 768
so if you change for an higher screen resolution animation takes place on the right:
if you change for a lower screen resolution goes left.
Razz Razz Razz
how can i fix it?

What is the name of your project file? If you have auto-backup on, there should be a copy on your site, and I will be able to download it.

Silence is golden -- I was away for most of yesterday, but survived the ordeal. Smile

Thanks, I was able to download your project file. I think the cleanest solution is to put the whole animation on its own page and to put that animation in an i-frame.

I experimented with using a path object for your ballspath ellipse and that partially solved the problem -- the orbital positions of the balls remains correct. However the gap between the launch pad of the balls and their orbital positions still varies depending on the browser page width.

If you want to hide the balls before they go into orbit, try placing them behind a colored rectangle or polygon, the same color as your background. If you like this approach, then I think you could substitute an ellipse path for your ballspath object, rather than the ellipse object you are using now, and that also should work.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my Path tool is not working properly, (Windows problem?) so for an ellipse, I substituted a path made from line segments, and that worked for me.

I see the timing differences between IE8 and FF, and don't have an answer for that -- in IE8 I see the balls being symmetrical in orbit, whereas in Firefox there is noticeable asymmetry. But I don't see that as unattractive -- maybe you can live with that?

Your problem has bought up a number of issues that I think VM should look at, so I will package up a little test project that illustrates the issues you have uncovered.

It is worst than i tought.
Thank you Bruceee for your great help and answers that now wait for solutions from VM, because when i bought the WE now SSPRO i was aiming to have some kind of animation in an easy way, blaming myself for not achieving results.
I HOPE SOON VM WILL COME OUT WITH (SIMPLE THAT'S OK) KIND OF JAVA THAT MAKES ANIMATION WORKS FOR FF AND IE. I THINK IT IS A MUST THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE THE NEED OF A SMART BUT ARTIFICIAL SOLUTION SUGGESTED BY BRUCEEE.

You know Brucee i really thank for your precious time, but at the end i'm giving up my balls.
The solution of hiding the balls is ok but if they were put on the background would have shown the beige colour when since the animation was taking place on an image, so i put them on the clouds image, with a rectangle on top that was a disclaimer for the images in the web site( anyway similar to what you suggested).

Before i give up totally i'm going to start eperimenting on relative positioning and sizing to see if i can come out with something better.

I really believe this is a great product and i want it to be better and I DON'T WANT TO USE EXTERNAL RESOURCES for basic things so:

VM... what are you missing to make sspro being a top product?

If it's time and experience i'm sorry i have'nt got any spare to give, but (i'm serious) there may be others, besides me, more than happy to give the same amount we gave at the beginning and probably more not to go and find sources to implement in VM products because of
1)poor animation
2)problems to work with forms
3)slide shows
...i mean you see every day in this forum there aprx. the same issues; that must mean something to you.

I hope the complaint is taken in a constructive way.

Update: I have passed this example on to VM. The link to the project file is near the top of the page.

Follow up: this page differs from the "where page" because of the presence of my balls, which are not mine any longer, now belong to the person i'm making the site for (he wanted them back).
Forget about the position now, there is a new problem: it makes desappear the slideshow set on pages.
Why?

I'm sorry but i had to take the "animation" off.

If VM for stunning and complex animation intends stay with your mouth open (and hope)and wait for just 5 balls going around a circle to be correctley displayed... bah!!! Eek Mad Big Grin
