Hi Derry,
I don't have the faintest idea whether or not this is what you are looking for in your "challenge," but it is definitely what I am looking for in terms of extending the vertical dimension in SVG and thus allowing for continuous scroll in colour. (a) The "H" workspace factor in Project Options was changed from approximately 6,000 to 16,000. (b) Three rectangles were created in SVG: one 800x600; one 700x500, and one approximate 300x2300. They were NOT grouped. (c) All three were centred, but only the vertical (arrow pointing up) relative positioning parameter was selected. It would not scroll in SVG preview mode. (d) The SVG file was embedded in an HTML page using the FOE. Before expanding the "box" it was centred both horizontally and vertically on the work page. (The target option was 800x600 but as usual I was working on a 1064x768 screen. (e) The box was expanded manually to 800x2300. (f) Edit>Select All was invoked; the ABSOLUTE position indicators were selected yielding "top" (single arrow up) and centred. (g) Re-render was turned off, and the page published. Web Engine: Top-Centred: 800x600 TO: 800x2300 embedded SVG file. http://members.shaw.ca/thraxpaladin/verticha.html This is what I was looking for: was this the challenge? It is top-centered and scrollable on the 3 monitor sizes which I selected. Cheers, This message has been edited. Last edited by: Muzz, |

Hi Derry,
Frankly I am too tired to try explain all the permutations; but I think I get the point. Recommended viewing: 1064s768 to see the changes. (a) Here, the green rectangle was manually shifted to the extreme left, and the Html publishing did NOT use centreing but did use absolute left. http://members.shaw.ca/thraxpaladin/vertichb.html (b) This is a hybrid with two objects centred and one moved to the left. Relative co-ordinates were used in SVG; Absolute co-ordinates in embedded HTML. http://members.shaw.ca/thraxpaladin/vertichc.html A very valuable lesson. Thanks Derry. Cheers, |

I see that both my name and that of the post is missing on the main page. Any particular reason?

Hi Muzz,
As long as it does what you want (and then some), then everybody is happy. Not sure what you mean about your name missing on the main page... - Derry |

Hi Derry,
Before my last post asking where goeth etc., the main page was not showing any listings under animation etc. There is one major example on the Knox Site, (almost fully uploaded again) involving legal clauses; and numerous essays on my home site which run to many pages. It involes creating oodles and oodles of files if you present them in serial or slideshow format. A simplistic way of looking at it is that I want to create a .pdf file in .svg web-site format. If you think that I am bonkers or missig the obvious, please do tell me. I am definitely open to suggestions. Besides the heavy writing agenda already on my plate, yesterday I was asked to do a book review. That will be the second which I'll have done for this company. I can pass myself off as a writer or mathematician when necessary, Derry; but there is no fooling anyone that I am an artist. Cheeers, PS: "Scrolling" is, after all, a bonafide form of animation.
